(A New Label Records / Altafonte)
From Ibiza reaches us the third installment of the Dark Elf quartet. A good product melodic heavy metal in its ten cuts shows a balanced and competent training led by vocalist Marc Riera , known for his role in Azarel. Alongside Riera, who also took over rhythm guitar, Vicente Clemente on drums, Crespo May the bass and the newly added Eugenio Cañavate on guitar round out this quartet can create issues as energetic as melodic, without getting into too many complications compositional and a classic taste is felt throughout the recording. Just listen to the first single "Beyond The Sky", by sharp rhythmic foundation and good vocal melodies in which it participates as a guest Naïma Cleuren contrasting clean parts and a good chorus with the more heavy and dark. The simple and melodic heavy songs like "Dream Stealers" causes us to stay with his critical letter and reminding chorus quedón Set sail for Valencia, as in the tempered and sharp "No I will die", or the forceful and nuanced "Angel." More power dyes found in the sugarcane and play "The Flame in You" in which sound much have to do the chorus, or the most overriding and dark "Deadly Kiss" marked by some curious play of voices. Gains in efficiency and finish with "Walking" by powerful guitars and motivated temáitca reminiscent of the first Wizard of Oz for his clear and hymnic chorus, something that does not happen in the insistent and disturbing "Hidden Face" which offers a point gothic and mysterious also found in the brief instrumental "Moon" that opens the disc. An album complete with the mystical and evocative "Mummy or Corpse" which presents an accurate analogy between slavery in ancient Egypt and currently enveloping rhythms and melodies combined with accelerated parts and screaming. A good job in the end, without fanfare, but with more than correct compositions of this band that is trying to make their way into the national heavy. Mariano
